TARMA- THE PEARL OF THE ANDES

La ciudad de Tarma es un lugar encantador, ubicado en el altiplano central, plagado de calles estrechas y campos fértiles que adquiere un nuevo estilo de vida, color y misticismo durante las festividades de Semana Santa.

Días previos a la procesión, los campos del valle se llenan de campesinos y pobladores que han ido a recoger las flores que se utilizarán para alfombrar sus calles.

Ahora entiendo porque la ciudad es conocida como La Perla de los Andes o La Ciudad de las Flores. Fue una hermosa experiencia.

The city of Tarma is an enchanted spot perched in the central highlands, riddled with narrow streets and fertile fields that take on a new lease of life, color and mysticism during the Easter Week festivities.

During the days prior to the procession, the valley fields fill with farmers and townsfolk who have come to pick the flowers that will be used to carpet the streets of Tarma.

Now I understand why the city is well know as The Pearl of the Andes or the city of flowers. It was a beautiful experience.
