A sólo 7 km al este de Puno, estas singulares islas flotantes son la principal atracción del Lago Titicaca. Su singularidad se debe a su construcción. Son un conjunto de superficies artificiales habitables construidas de totora, es una planta acuática que crece en la superficie del lago, de esta planta también se construyen casas, botes y artesanía.
Llegar hasta la Isla de los Uros es fácil- no es necesario tomar un tour, puedes ir por tu cuenta también. Los ferries salen del puerto, ida y vuelta es sólo 10 soles por persona, salen a cada hora dependiendo de la temporada desde las 6 hasta las 16 horas. Disfruten!

They have been created entirely with the buoyant totora reeds that grow abundantly in the shallows of the lake, this are also used to build homes, boats and crafts. The islands are constructed from many layers of the totora, which are constantly replenished from the top as they rot from the bottom, so the ground is always soft and springy.
Getting to the Uros is easy – there’s no need to go with an organized tour. Ferries leave from the port for Uros (return trip S10) at least once an hour from 6am to 4pm. Enjoy!
